Thanksgiving 2014 | Pt. 2 | Gainesville, FL

This Thanksgiving we not only got to spend time with my family (see "Thanksgiving 2014 | Pt. 1 | Live Oak, FL), but each year we also visit Jason's family in Gainesville. Here are some photos from our day at Aunt Gail's house! :)

Elijah | 4 Months Old

It's that time again... time for another update, and yes, late once again. I guess this is part of being the second child. Mom is never on top of things like she was with kid #1. Haha.

Anyways, Elijah man turned 4 months old a few weeks ago, and I finally got around to getting his 4 month pics just the other day. He is the happiest, chunkiest, cutest baby boy!

  • He is LOVING tummy time these days...finally!!
  • Eating rice cereal/oatmeal once a day, and in a few days will start baby food. His tongue reflex (I forget the technical term for it) is horrible. I will put the spoon far back enough for him to get something, and somehow he manages to push it ALL out with his tongue. This goes for medicine too... little stinker. :)
  • He smiles ALL THE TIME. He smiles at anyone and everyone. Just like Big Sister, Julia, he knows NO stranger.
  • We are finally making strides on getting him to sleep in his crib. So far, we make it to about 3am before he wakes up.
  • He giggles (so cute I might add) when we tickle him. I can't 'til he starts laughing all the time. It's my favorite. :)
  • He is wearing 6 month clothes and weighs 15lbs. Yes...15lbs. Chunkster.
  • He rolled over for the first time in front of the doctor. He still refuses to do it at home. He hasn't done it since his appointment...that I know of.
  • He loves to make noises. I have a feeling he is probably going to find his voice very, very soon.

Thanksgiving 2014 | Pt. 1 | Live Oak, FL

It has been crazy, busy around our neck of the woods! It was nice to have a break... short, but nonetheless...a break. I found myself extra thankful this Thanksgiving for many reasons, and it would take an entire blog post just to list all the things that God has blessed my family with this year. One thing I will say, I praise Him for who He is, and all that He done in the life of my family. I have nothing but gratitude and thanks. He is good!

Elijah | Three Months Old

Things have been a little crazy around our house lately. Last week, I went back to work after a 12 week maternity leave. On top of this new transition, 3 out of 4 of us had the stomach bug. It was miserable. Thankfully, Elijah did not have it, and hopefully will not get it (fingers crossed).

Anyways, our little man turned 3 months old last Wednesday, and I never got around to giving an update on how he is growing, so better late than never, right? :)

  • As of his two month well visit, he weighed 12 lbs and... a few ounces... (Mom brain... can't remember! Ha!). He's a little chunkster! That is for sure!
  • He is such a smiley baby! He has really started to make eye contact with us and has the BIGGEST grin when he does! My heart absolutely melts every time!
  • He has started to "coo" at us when we talk to him. It is the sweetest! I cherish each precious milestone and love it even more when I catch it on video!
  • He has started to use his hands a lot more. When he is under his baby play gym, he tries his hardest to grab the toys. If he does get one, he gets frustrated because he can't bring the toy to his face. It is really funny to watch!
  • Last night we put him in his Bumbo seat with some toys on the tray, and he actually grabbed the toys off the tray to put in his mouth. His coordination is still a little off, so he kept getting frustrated when his aim was bad. Again, really funny to watch!
  • Tummy time continues to be a hit and miss, but mostly hate!
  • We are having a hard time transitioning him from his bassinet to the crib. He does not like to lay flat on his back, so we are still learning what will work best for him (and us)!
  • He has started to sleep completely through the night, and doesn't wake up until around 7-8 in the morning. He is getting better at napping as long as he is in his bassinet, car seat, or a bouncy seat. Otherwise, you might as well forget nap time!
He is such a sweet-spirited baby. He is always so happy (unless he is hungry, haha!) I am so thankful God chose me to be his Mommy!

Happy Fall! :)

Julia | 2 Years Old

It's hard to believe that my firstborn is two years old today. It seems like just yesterday we brought her home for the first time. It has been fun to watch her learn and grow over the past two years ago, and I pray the Lord will bless us with many more years to come as we watch her develop into a beautiful, little girl who loves Jesus! (It excites me to hear her say the name, "Jesus." It may come out "Jesse," but it's close enough for me! Haha.)

Happy Birthday, Julia Bug! Mommy, Daddy, & Elijah love you more than you will ever know.
