Elijah | Two Months Old

Where has the time gone? It's hard to believe that our sweet baby boy is two months old as of yesterday! Has it really been two months since we met him for the first time? It goes by so fast, and I am loving every minute of it! Even the moments when I feel exhausted, emotional, and wondering how I even made it through the day. Being a Mommy is one of the greatest blessings from the Lord!

Updates on our little guy:

• As of his one month well visit, he weighed 9 lbs 11 ozs. I'm pretty sure he weighs anywhere from 10-12 lbs now! His little cheeks probably weigh the most! :) 
• He continues to grow stronger with each day. He loves to sit up - not on his own, but with our help. He loves his bumbo seat that keeps him in the upright position. He is really getting good at holding his head up when you have him on your shoulder.
• Tummy time is still a hit and miss. He mostly hates it, but every now and then, he surprises me and loves it. 
• He does not like to lay flat on his back! He simply won't have it, so transitioning him from the bassinet to the crib has been nearly impossible. I know we will get there one day, but it is a constant reminder that my first child was not your typical baby. Haha.
• He is not much of a sleeper. It takes work to make this baby fall asleep! Fill the tummy to the max, then rock, rock, rock! 
• He has started smiling and cooing just last week! It melts my heart every time I see that sweet, sweet smile! He smiles most when I give him some sugars... which, of course, melts my heart even more!

Leon High School | Ministry Service Project | FBSM

Yesterday, a group of our students showed up to Leon High School to spread mulch in the school's courtyard. These ladies worked hard and did it with joy knowing the purpose was more than just spreading mulch - but to share the gospel! In order to reach your peers and your school in a city where it is not as easy to share the name of Christ, you must start with showing them you care!

Great job girls! You made your school look even better by your love for Jesus and willingness to serve! Jason and I are so proud of you!

GRACE DNOW 2014 | FBSM

Two weeks ago, we held our first Disciple Now for the youth group since we moved to Tallahassee. The theme for the event was "Grace." The students learned how God's grace is poured out on those who trust in Him. It was a powerful, impacting weekend filled with worship, bible study, fellowship, and a little round of ultimate frisbee.
