I had the privilege of taking newborn portraits for a very sweet friend of mine. Rachel and I have been best friends since the third grade, and it still amazes me how a childhood friendship has continued to develop into a solid lasting friendship as adults. All credit goes to Jesus!
It is so fun that both of us are Mommies now! Rachel had her first baby, Liam, a little over a week ago, and he is absolutely precious! He was so calm and curious the whole time I was taking photos! Congratulations Rachel and Lucas! Truly, being a parent is such a gift! Enjoy your sweet baby boy!

Elijah | 2 Years Old | Mickey Mouse Theme | Alpine Groves Park
It's hard to believe my baby boy is going to be two years old in a two days. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital! He has grown so much over the past year, and it has been such a blessing to watch each milestone.
He is communicating so well. He has to if he wants to keep up with his big sister. At this point, if you say any word to him, he will try to copy it. It may be hard to understand sometimes, but he definitely tries. I love how he watches lips when people try to talk to him. He is very smart!
He is definitely in the "copy cat" stage. He follows Julia everywhere and wants to do everything she is doing. It's really cute to watch...most of the time!
He loves, loves, loves to sing. He sings himself to sleep. He sings in the car. He randomly sings to his Mickey Mouse, "Dappy" Dog, etc. Music is definitely a major part of him. Anytime there is a song playing, he is usually humming in the background. His favorite song is "Jesus Loves Me." Definitely makes this Mommy's heart happy. It is so sweet when he and Julia sing it together in the car. Melts my heart every time!
He loves to dance, throw balls (or anything for that matter), he has started this new "skipping" thing if he is trying to get somewhere in a hurry, and he loves his Mickey Mouse and "Dappy" Dog stuffed animals.
It was a beautiful afternoon at the Alpine Groves Park in Fruit Cove. Today was the first time we had ever been there. We will definitely be going there more often!
I have to say, the older my kids get, the more difficult it is to get those "perfect, non-blurry" shots. It's nearly impossible when neither one of them can stand or sit in one place for longer than three seconds. These pictures are just real life. By the time we made it to the dock, Eli had pink cheeks from running, and his hair was wild and wet from sweating! They may be grainy, a little bit blurry, and lack creativity, but it is the memories that I will remember most. I want to remember his chunky little cheeks that I love to smother in kisses. I want to remember his bow legs and that is how he got the nickname "Cowboy" from a preschool teacher. I want to remember how much he loved Mickey Mouse! These may not be the perfect pictures, but they hold the most perfect memories!
Here are some photos for my sweet boy's 2nd birthday! Enjoy!

Julia & Elijah | Flower Field 2016 | Hampton, FL
The past month has definitely been a crazy, exciting one for our family. A little over three weeks ago, our family made the big move to Fruit Cove, FL where my husband was called as Middle School Minister to Fruit Cove Baptist Church. With this move, I have been given the opportunity to be a stay-at-home Mommy. This is ministry the Lord has given to me in this season of life, and I am loving every moment. Some days have proved to be more difficult than others...like the days my oldest refuses to nap, or the screaming...oh the screaming, or when the youngest thinks it is funny to throw sister's toys in the toilet. No matter the struggles that come with being a Mommy, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am thankful for each day that I get to be a homemaker for my family, give them my full attention and love, provide them with a peaceful home, and teach them that in everything we do, we should give glory to Jesus. (Not that I am perfect by any means, but my desire is to grow and become the Mommy they need me to be!)
One thing that staying home has provided me with is...TIME. I now have the time to get back into the things I enjoy most. One of them being my photography. There is something about getting my camera, and seeing the world through a different perspective: capturing the important moments, the details, the things you never want to forget. Oh, how I have missed it! I am blessed to use this talent as a ministry to serve the Lord!
Today was a special day. I was able to get some updates of my babies. The "famous" flower field was in bloom, and it was absolutely stunning. The flowers were vivid with color, and the weather was perfect. The kids had such a good time picking the flowers for their Nana, and every once in a while they would bring me one say "For you Mommy!" It was a sweet time for us. I am so incredibly thankful for these moments. I am also thankful to live closer to family because we were able to spend lunch with Nana & Papa before we headed home for nap time!
I hope you can enjoy these as much I do!
